The City We Fell For
Some photographs are carefully planned. Others happen because a moment is simply too beautiful to let pass.
I captured this photograph just after photographing a wonderful couple from England who had traveled to New York City to celebrate their love. As they admired the breathtaking view from Top of the Rock, I found myself pausing before leaving, taking one last look over Manhattan. The morning light wrapped around the Empire State Building, Lower Manhattan stretched toward the harbor, and the Statue of Liberty quietly stood in the distance. The city felt peaceful—almost as if it had paused for a moment.
That morning reminded me why so many people fall in love with New York. It's a city where anniversaries are celebrated, proposals begin new chapters, lifelong memories are made, and visitors from around the world experience moments they'll never forget. Whether this skyline reminds you of someone you love, a journey you've taken, or simply your admiration for one of the world's most iconic cities, I hope this photograph brings that feeling into your home every day.
Sometimes we don't just fall for a person—we fall for a place. This is the city we fell for.
