5 Places in Boracay Worth Waking Up at Sunrise For

Boracay is famous for its spectacular sunsets, but if you ask me, sunrise is one of the island's best-kept secrets.

As a photographer, I quickly learned that the quiet hours just after dawn reveal a completely different side of Boracay. The beaches are peaceful, the air is fresh, and the island feels like it belongs only to the few early risers who decided to start their day before everyone else.

If you're planning a trip to Boracay, here are five places that are absolutely worth waking up early for.

1. White Beach (Station 1)

White Beach is Boracay's most famous destination, but if you want to experience it at its absolute best, wake up before sunrise.

Since the sun rises on the opposite side of the island, the beach is bathed in soft, gentle light rather than harsh direct sunlight. It's the perfect time for photography, peaceful walks, or simply enjoying one of the world's most beautiful beaches before the crowds arrive.

I especially recommend heading to Station 1, where you'll find some of the most breathtaking scenery on the island. In the early morning, colorful traditional boats are lined up along the shoreline, waiting for the day's adventures to begin. Combined with the powdery white sand and incredibly vibrant shades of turquoise and blue, the views are simply unforgettable.

If you're hoping to capture beautiful photographs of White Beach without hundreds of people in the background, sunrise is unquestionably the best time to visit.

And once you've finished exploring Station 1, continue your morning with a short walk to nearby Diniwid Beach.

2. Bulabog Beach

If your goal is to watch a spectacular sunrise, Bulabog Beach is the place to be.

Located on the eastern side of Boracay, this is where the sun rises each morning, creating breathtaking colors across the water. The peaceful atmosphere before the island fully wakes up makes it one of my favorite places to start the day.

Although Bulabog Beach is famous for kitesurfing, the early morning feels completely different. The water is calm, the beach is quiet, and you may spot a handful of experienced kite surfers catching the very first wind of the day. Watching them glide across the water as the sun rises is a beautiful sight and makes for an unforgettable Boracay experience.

Whether you're there to photograph the sunrise or simply enjoy a peaceful morning by the ocean, Bulabog Beach is well worth the early wake-up call.

3. Diniwid Beach

Just a short walk from White Beach, Diniwid Beach feels like a hidden escape.

Its rocky shoreline, swaying palm trees, and smaller crowds create a more intimate setting. Early morning light adds beautiful texture to the landscape, making it one of my favorite places to slow down and simply enjoy the view.

If you're looking for a quieter alternative to White Beach, don't miss Diniwid.

4. Mount Luho

For panoramic views of Boracay, nothing compares to Mount Luho.

Watching the island from above as the first light reaches the beaches and turquoise water is an unforgettable experience. On a clear morning, you'll be rewarded with sweeping views that showcase just how beautiful this tiny island really is.

5. Puka Beach

Puka Beach has a completely different character from White Beach.

Known for its natural beauty and more rugged coastline, it's a wonderful place to experience the peaceful side of Boracay. During sunrise, the beach feels untouched, offering plenty of space to enjoy the ocean without the crowds that arrive later in the day.

It's one of those places where you can simply sit, listen to the waves, and appreciate the beauty of the island.
