How to Choose the Right Hotel in Boracay

(So You Don’t Make My Mistake—That Turned Out to Be a Blessing!)

When booking a hotel in Boracay, you’ll find plenty of options on major travel platforms—but the most important thing to keep in mind is location. Most travelers aim to stay along White Beach, which is divided into three sections:
Station 1 – Quieter, more upscale resorts.
🎉 Station 2 – The center of the action, nightlife, shopping, and boat tours.
🌿 Station 3 – A bit more rustic and laid-back.

These stations are all within walking distance of each other, so no matter where you stay on White Beach, you’ll have easy access to everything.

But here’s the plot twist:
When I booked my trip, I thought I was staying on White Beach… only to arrive and realize I had booked a hotel on Bulabog Beach, which is across the island. My first thought was: “Oops.”

But that “mistake” turned out to be the best decision I didn’t mean to make.

I stayed at Palassa Private Residences—a beautiful beachfront hotel where my room looked out onto the ocean, and every morning I woke up to kite surfers dancing across the waves. While Bulabog Beach isn’t ideal for swimming, it’s perfectfor wind and kite surfing, and the vibe is completely different from White Beach.

🌊 It’s peaceful.
🌅 It’s quiet.
🌴 And the sunsets? Unreal.

At night, instead of rave music and crowds (think Times Square in NYC), I listened to waves and crickets. In the morning, I took a 10-minute walk to White Beach whenever I wanted to explore or join the buzz.

Honestly, if I had stayed on White Beach, I might’ve never discovered Bulabog. So here’s my advice:
👉 Don’t just look at the name of the beach when booking—double-check the map.
👉 And if you're someone who likes a quiet place to retreat to after a day of adventure, consider staying near Bulabog Beach. It might just be the best surprise of your trip. 💙
